BADGE Reference Design - BADGER

BADGER is a platform to evaluate, develop and demonstrate BADGE solutions. The BADGER platform can serve as a tool to shorten the development cycle. BADGER helps the development team to focus on product optimization, improved functionality and lower product cost.

On the BADGER platform it's possible to run performance evaluations. You can build, and demonstrate, the display system even before start of the hardware and software development.

Accompanying software utilities enable the development of your graphics application in a desktop environment, which can then be transferred and evaluated on the reference platform. Pictures are translated to the exact system setup and can be compressed before transfer. All font types supported by the Freetype library (www.freetype.org) can be converted to the BADGE font format and used on the reference platform.

Video signals and displays can be directly connected to the board. Only a single +12V supply is needed to run the board.

The BADGER platform can run in stand-alone mode or with an OS as Linux or Windows CE. It can run configured with the on-board ARM processor or a soft processor in the FPGA.

The FPGA can host BADGE and optionally other functional blocks needed in the end application. Even completely non-graphical blocks can be included in the FPGA on the board.

BADGER is delivered with an evaluation version of BADGE. This gives your team a possibility to test BADGE’s potential. High performance and/or cost optimized solutions can be tailored together with BitSim. Optimization and adaptation to specific customer requirements are services provided by BitSim. BitSim comprises skilled developers and teams in the areas of IP solutions, Graphics and Video know-how as well as consulting services.
