Facility Parking AB (Sweden) offers Parking Security Equipment for applications such as Parking Garages.
The system consists of a device that measures objects (cars) and communicates with a PC through an RS-232 serial interface. The object's length is determined by using ultra sonar sensors both at the front and the rear of the desired object. Various measurement methods were studied, the usage of ultra sound was chosen.
The design is based on a single chip microcontroller with integrated Flash & RAM memory and two ultra sonic sensors. BitSim's responsibilities included system development, board design, firmware development and Windows based verification SW.
