VideoMux BV101 ASI-MUX multiplexes up to four MPEG2-transportstreams in a DVB-ASI-format into one single SDI-channel. Existing SDI-based equipment and other Video systems including video switches can thus be utilized for the transmission of ASI-streams. Separate ASI-distribution channels, ASI-switches or multi standard switches are therefore not needed. At the receiving end, demultiplexing of the SDI-channel of BV102 ASI-DEMUX is done to recreate the ASI-streams. Typcial user cases are ASI-transport in or in between TV studios, TV distributors and post production houses. BV101 ASI-MUX is utilizing statistical multiplexing to pack the four ASI-streams into a single SDI (SDTI)-channel. This implies that the available SDI bandwidth can be dynamically and immediately distributed for the actual need of the different ASI channels. The total bandwidth includes a large margin for four existing HDTV channels. The MPEG-packets are packed into the SDI-signal with a BitSim proprietary protocol which is supporting the SDTI standard (data transport over SDI). The SDI signal is looking just as an ordinary video signal to other equipment, enabling a transparent transmission.
